A gps system in a car doesnt require wi-fi does it?

No. Wifi is something that is used to share an internet connection through the air over a short distance. GPS is a global satalite network that only sends down a time stamp. IE no 2 way talking going on. In order to download some software you need a pc connection via a usb plug. However to connect with speakers or the antenna there is often a bluetooth usage. That is different from a wifi which is used to convey internet information. I have the street atlas 07 software. That works through GPS. it doesn%26#39;t require wi-fi that for laptops
