Do beepers still exist? Who uses them?

I%26#39;m not talking about a cell phone doubling as a beeper, I%26#39;m talking about an honest to goodness beeper? Even one that makes musical sounds, instead of actually beeping? I want one!

Answer:

IDK,but I carried one so long taht still if I hear one on TV or something I grab my pocket to check it. Yea, usually doctors use them nowadays, and they go through a service. mainly hospital staff i believe :-) Yes, Unfortunetly I have to use one for work. Well we still use them within the hospital setting. Most hospitals have paging systems to get a hold of practitioners. Yes they do still exist. Many industries still us them as an inexpensive way to contact people on call for the night. In this way the person does not have to stay home and can still be contacted. I work in telecommunications and we still use pagers for notifications from our ticketing system, i.e. if a high enough priority ticket comes in, the on call person is paged. Plus, our field technicians have them as cell coverage does not work in the utility rooms of many large buildings that pagers can still reach. hmmm... drug dealers and doctors.
