Can I trace my stolen Garmin GPS?

my Garmin GPS was stolen out of my car recently... Can I trace it%26#39;s location?

Answers:

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but no, you cannot track your GPS receiver. GPS on its own is a passive technology, meaning all it does is receive information. GPS can be augmented with a means of broadcasting its location, i.e. cell connection, for a fleet manager to track his vehicles, but without that added capability there is no way to track a GPS receiver. Yes, but only if it is transmitting. You will need to contact your GPS service provider for help. Mine just got stolen in WA today, July 8th. I was wondering the same thing. Would Garmin be the GPS provider?
